Fundraiser Mass Service at the Cemetery

On August 9, a special mass was held at the Pioneer Cemetery to support the fund-raising event and to commemorate those buried in the cemetery - estimated attendance was 325!  The mass was very well attended with the large crowd of worshippers moving to the Parish Hall for a fund-raising dinner and ceilidh afterwards.

Restoration of Stephen H. MacDonald Stone

This is a great example of the work being done, and which we hope to complete over the next year with your help.  In the photos, the six pieces of the stone of Stephen H. MacDonald, which had been found underneath trees and brush were restored.  The stone mason is Barry Nelson, from New Brunswick, and he is doing a great job.

Here is our photo record of the events of the day.

Work continues clearing and re-building

In early June, the team spent a weekend clearing brush in and around the cemetery, and clearing a new road down to the shore.  This road had been overgrown for almost a century and now one can walk down to lands end, to look down onto a beautiful deserted white sand beach, and to gaze out over the waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Here is our photo record of the events of the day.
